donee, I had never tried to quantify the effect of ambient temperature on fuel economy ... but I believe you are correct. I fueled up in mid trip and when I finally fueled up again (a stint which inlcuded the 2nd half of my trip) I got over 41mpg ... so my trip economy alone was probably 41+ ... good, but still off my typical summer trip economy of 42-43+mpg.

So, what does this say about the disks? Nothing really. As pointed out here in other threads, economy gains will be modest and there are so many variables involved that I'll probably never be able to quantify savings (if any) that I'm getting.

'jams, the noise doesn't bother me too much ... and I'm leery of mucking up my rims with caulk so I'm living with it for now.

One thing that IS annoying is the way these things loosen up over time. I check them and have to pound closed the slight gaps that appear about every week. I think the noise and the loosening comes from the rims flexing slightly as I drive.

Oh well, I still like the way they look.
