Well I'm an arse, I know you've mentioned that before. I guess I was prepared to be hard on the guy based on what you've shared of him.

Plumbers are overpaid when fixing a leak/clog inside the house, and vastly underpaid when crawling under a house. It evens out.

I spent a day pretending to be a plumber and it involved army crawling through puddles of animal urine and feces, over a dead cat, and spending hours on your back in a 2ft crawl space under a house drilling holes and routing pipes.

Fix it yourself, or don't complain about the price...

I heard of a story of someone that was living with their elderly dad rent free, and wouldn't fix leaks because "it wasn't his house". Had no regard for anything not their own.
