My wife drives our I10 hammer down - but she only does local trips in town, or if need be to the next adjacent one. If she does not hammer it it would never get warm... So she's preserving the exhaust and oil from excessive condensation
I took the I10 to office once this summer, when she was staying at her parents to support her dying father. That resulted in a record tank. I could get about the same economy in it if I had to (but the Insight is a way better car on the highway, so...)
