Aaaaaand nevermind. For safety/liability reasons, Apple restricts the type of apps that can be used with CarPlay. Apps that show distracting car diagnostic information are not allowed, despite the fact that car manufacturers provide much of the same information on gauge clusters and sometimes in the infotainment screen.
