The screw-in LED-enclosed light bulb implementation seems so in-efficient, even today. I have some old screw-in flat-face LEDs with no spherical enclosures..... plus they can be rotated to the direction you need the light. Such a set-up, allows 7-watt LED lights to replace 100-watt Incandescent bulbs. Without the enclosure, the small amount of LED heat doesn't build up in the light that would have shortened the life of the LED bulbs. Two have lasted 8 to 10 years, & each has saved 2500 to 3000 kW-hrs of electricity. A third only lasted 6 years, but still saved plenty of kW-hrs.
Characteristically, these LEDs, may NOT have been made in communist china(always small letters).
