AeroStealth has really enjoyed his. It's allowed him to get his carbon footprint down 80%.
He wants to go lower,so he's now considering the new Escape plug-in,RAV-4 plug-in,both with expected higher range,or used Tesla Model-3 long range. So far,no hard range numbers for either the Ford or Toyota.Maybe after the Los Angeles Auto Show.
He makes his own solar electricity. And actually, the economic difference between a higher range PHEV and the Tesla are almost a wash. And it's long-distance,3,000-miles
/year, holiday travel which makes the difference.Once he leaves home he can't control the source of electricity (carbon dioxide).
The PHEVs have essentially unlimited range on the open road. For 12,000 miles a year they'd be 'solar-powered'.He could do virtually all his daily driving on sunlight. On a daily basis, the Tesla would have no significant advantage.
Anyway, you could do a lot worse than a C-Max Energi.
