ALDL = Assembly Line Diagnostic Link , a proprietary on-board diagnostics system used by General Motors before OBD-II was standardized in 1996, mostly 12-pin plug, with some 10-pin and 5-pin variants.
From what I've read I think Scangauge only works with 16-pin OBD-II cars.
However in principle ALDL provides all that is needed for fuel consumption calculation. There is some free software that can display engine rpm and injector pulse width, have a look here: ALDL OBD1 OBD cable OBDI OBD2 engine codes
