My brother asks me to take him for a walk every night.
I am paranoid, so I have him bring my wallet.
I always put my wallet in a shoe organizer on my bedroom door, but after the walk, he usually puts my wallet in the same spot in the living room.
After the walk, I went straight to sleep, and got the eight hours about which I bragged in the title. I am honestly unsure if I got any sleep the night before.
This morning I woke up and found my work keys, which I had not put in their place. However, my wallet was neither in the shoe organizer, nor in my brother's spot. I could not find it anywhere, so I apologetically woke him and asked him where it was. It took me longer to get him up than it took for him to find it. He went right back to sleep, but I was at least ten minutes late for work. I got here and the battery in my bluetooth keyboard was dead.
Right before I could pull my first student, the fire alarm went off, but not in my room, so I wondered what that noise was, saw the kids, and banged on the door to the next class, because they did not seem to be able to hear it.
We were finally cleared, I grabbed my first student, and as soon as we at down, the alarm went off in my room, so we filed back out.
It was cute, she is a kindergartner, and had carried two stuffed animals for the fire drill. She clamped them over her ears!
When we finally had the second all-clear we were basically out of time, but I was still able to work with her--until she threw up!
What is the correct way to thank a kid for making it all of the way to the garbage can before vomiting? I just needed to wander around the school with the garbage can until I found the custodian and said "Present for you!"
I work in a small room with double doors--you know, in case I ever want to park the front half of my car in here. I opened both doors, sprayed everything she may have touched with Lysol, and it was over an hour before I felt that I could bring in kids and have them work.
