Wow, what tires are you running 80 psi on your Insight? My understanding is that burst pressure is about 4x sidewall max. I was running low 50's on my Gen2 Prius. Snapped a rear spring at one point. I don't know if there was a connection. Currently mellowed down to low/mid 40's on my Gen3.
