Probably airbrushed. It was the style at the time.
The Cybertruck turns out to have those hard edges because its's made of the same stainless steel as the Star Ship. Stainless steel wears out the forms used to stamp the pieces. No compound curves for you!
I like the Landliner a lot. Maybe there's one in a barn somewhere waiting to be found.

I've been thinking about it. Consider the way the Star Ship has evolved before it has even flown, I suspect that people will like it even better as the fabrication issues are evolved.
