Wishing for better MPG

I just finished an engine rebuild on my 99 Saturn SW2. I thought about a newer car before doing the rebuild, but there is almost nothing out there with better fuel economy than the Saturn, so I decided on the rebuild. My SW2 averages about 35 in everyday driving and 40 mpg on the highway if I don't push it too hard, so it just made sense to keep it. I've driven a couple of small cars in France that I would love to buy, but of course we can't get them in the U.S.
And by the way, I think we will see increased gas prices. How high? I don't know, but I think it's inevitable.
