Fuel saving is more difficult with the gasoline engine (Megane) than with my C3 Picasso (Diesel engine).
Behavior is different.
My using is daily trip 2 x 17 km with 2 cold start a day.
I have also a lot of heiht difference (not mountain of course).
I optimized the trip to have constant downhill to go to work, and another trip to have minimum variation to go back...
Roads are winding? (not straight) and pulse and glide is difficult. That explain my results.
On long trip, i can easily reach 6.4L/100....
I don't have low resistance tyre....
For next car, i'm looking for:
Citroën C4 3 doors
Ford Focus SW (Econetic model)
both in 1.6L 90hp Diesel engine.
If French drivers won't be so crazy behind the steering wheel, and if i don't have to "carry" my family, i'll by a Citroen Ax 14d...
