Maybe some sort of thermal layer or blanket for the block; retaining that heat in the engine could help keep the inverter cooler too. I've been tossing the idea around for my car, and found
this person who did it on an Insight. BMW also experimented with an engine jacket a few years ago that they claimed kept the block above ambient for up to 12 hours after shutdown.
