in order to legally be a real truck it has to have BODY on frame truck chassis.
it uses passenger rated tires 105 load index
a pickup tire is 121 load index
also the Successor was the Chevrolet SSR which was a total failure in the US
Model years 2004–2006
which was based on the GMT360 truck platform also all the classics were built on a "truck platform chassis "

He said car based. So.... fwd is not out of the question. California is only ~10% of the U.S. population so 90% of us consider it a truck. The ridgeline (was it standard?) had awd, so arguable engine layout doesn't matter. If you put a bed on a vw beetle is it a truck? it had a frame (I could definitely be wrong) and was rwd.
This thread was about vehicles that were cars, but they put a truck bed on. Like an ute. A mini truck like an s10 is a shrunken truck, so not relevant. So a regular truck like the avalanche is definitely not the focus of the thread because of its large size. The ridgeline is smaller than a avalanche, but still not the size I think they were looking for in this thread.
