Dolphin electric finally arrives at the route 66 museum

Yesterday morning my friend Sam delivered the Dolphin electric super aerodynamic vehicle to our museum. Since the museum is currently bursting at the seems with exhibits, we temporarily put it in the parking lot parallel to Route 66. Josh Noble, The Kingman Director of Tourism and manager of the Kingman Visitor Center where the museum is located, placed the car in the most perfect location. It is near the highway with the Route 66 logo on the pavement, the Historic Route 66 Scenic Road sign just behind the car and the Railroad Park behind the vehicle on the other side of the road. It is the ultimate photo opp location and should draw in a lot of visitors to the museum. Josh will be putting a sign in the window stating: "More Unique Historic Electric Vehicles inside"

The Dolphin was built by the late Dave Cloud, a longtime SEVA (Seattle Electric Vehicle Association) member and one of the most prolific builders of electric vehicle conversions anywhere in the country. After Dave's passing the car was acquired by Kent Bakke, a SEVA member and friend and a key benefactor of our museum who kindly donated it to us.

We are currently looking for an automotive paint guy in the Kingman area to apply a fresh coat of red paint. If anyone knows of someone in the area please have them contact me at roderick@hevf.org. Dream Machines custom paint shop, which was right across the street behind Mr. D'z Route 66 Diner has closed down. Lee Barnhill, the owner, had done some fantastic paint jobs for us in the past. Apparently he retired.

I wanted to post a special thank you to SEVA member John Lussmyer for storing the vehicle while we arranged for transport.
