I still don't know why N95 masks in particular are in the news. Some of them even have exhaust valves, so no filtering is performed when you exhale, which is the primary reason to wear a mask in the first place.

Then there's the fact that they are difficult to breath through. I couldn't imagine wearing one 8 hours a day, 5 days per week.

I've been wearing a surgical mask when I go in public because it's easy to put on and easier to breath through. It accomplishes the goal of keeping water droplets from spewing.
