Okay, I'll walk that back. I was shoe-horning into the thread.
My preference would be to use molten salt reactors to consume nuclear waste. Does coal slag still have all the Thorium the raw coal has?
The largest reservoir of easily harvested power is the tides.
edit:
I guess I missed Suspicious 0bservers yesterday. There was mention of this paper:
arxiv.org: PETROLEUM, COAL AND OTHER ORGANICS IN SPACE
Quote:
It is shown that the petroleum and coal model of the UIE converges and merges quite well with the MAON (Mixed Aromatic Aliphatic Organic Nanoparticles) model of the UIE [unidentified infrared emissions]. It is shown that the thermal treatment of various substrates like PAHs, alkylated PAHs but also mixed aliphatic/olefinic substrates leads invariable to carbonaceous materials matching the infrared spectrum of anthracite coal or certain petroleum fractions.

Not a good fit for a Corona-chan thread. Perhaps I should start a new thread in The Lounge so we can talk about climate?
