The way the fee schedule is setup they pretty much want to force you to buy a new plate every time (new plates are only valid 11 months) or force you to keep the same single plate forever. Rather stupid they got rid of prorated plates all so they can collect an extra $15+ but due to pandemic I would have to drive with a photocopied LAF for 3 months if I go new.
Even 3 years ago none of this would be an issue
Nothing like man made first world problems , gotta make everything more complex
