I'd provide feedback in the classroom, and when other students were asked what they thought, they'd refer back to my comments and say "what he said". Glad I could inject some reason into the conversation, but I only took the class once. Who knows how many uncritical thinkers have offloaded the task to the professor.

I’m surprised he didn’t move on to postmodernism. It’s been co-opted, IMHO, by a lot of Marxist sympathizers to negate pretty much anything their detractors say. Though, Thaddeus Russell can give a far more eloquent explanation than I can.
Strange times abound, and although I’d like to buy the simulation theory, I think it’s more a matter of the internet disrupting everything from news to personal interactions. If it’s going to right itself, I think it’ll take another 20 years and I fear it will be accompanied by some bad legislation and/or cyborgish implants.
