Last thing I did with my car was to see why my A/C crapped out.

I’m one of those people who doesn’t like gadgets, but if the car is so equipped, it needs to work. I’ve had this car for three years now, and used the AC for maybe two hours total, so I was worried that a seal had dried out and busted. Nope, the power wire for the compressor clutch rubbed through.

It’s a bit thicker than the standard automotive wiring, and being under the hood I want good heat shrink butt connectors. But not just that: I’m moving to NY state soon, so to avoid green crusties, I also want them with the sealing epoxy which melts out to help the seal. Between the correct wire gauge and the connectors, I’m basically creating work for myself by not saying “good enough”.
