I couldn't find one that would scale, so a bit of work in microsoft paint and I now have an avatar, but that is off the topic.
I can't work out whether the point of the vent is to reduce the area of low pressure that stagnates and thus create two stagnation points but of lower total drag, or whether it is to reduce the separation/promote flow attachment on the hood. In one thread here there was something about the prius with the bulge to encourage separation wasn't there?
