Mom got some cookware when she got married 49 years ago and a handle on one of her pots broke a while back. For some reason I kept thinking about fabricating a new handle, but when the handle on a lid broke after about 25 years I realized that I should be able to find replacement handles. They are not the same brand, but they are made by Revere, which should be good enough. I needed to find a different screw for the lid, but one from my box of assorted fasteners from Walmart or wherever was perfect.

I needed to modify the part of the handle that screws to the pot and that took a while, but it fits perfectly, although it is quite a different shape.

It is great to have those working properly again.

A friend sent me a card telling me that he ran across a letter from an old friend thanking him for sharing stories about me and what a great example I was. So, many years ago I apparently inspired someone with an amazing attitude and his version of me inspired others.

I will take it!
