In Constantinople?

American Factory Warehouse said that my pantry was delayed until January 27th, so I asked them to cancel.

I felt fed up trying to get my hands on a bookcase with doors--wait.

Walmart has a 24" bookcase for $30!

Sure! I will just make cabinet doors myself, why not?

I looked on HomeDepot.com for cabinet doors and found this plain $90 cabinet, which apparently fits in a closet, and this $200 kitchen cabinet, which would be okay. It faces the kitchen, but is deeper than it is wide.

Great.

By the way, this is a $90 closet door, which should work, but there would need to be modifications. It is 8" taller than the bookcase.

Fun.

I wonder how my day would have gone had I figured out all of that this morning. I thought that I could make a bookcase with doors, but when I looked for plans I discovered slide-out pantries:

That looks perfect! I didn't look on-line at the time, but I figured that this would be excessively expensive, so I tried to find plans. I finally gave up and tried to figure out how to make my own and encountered this:

That will do!

The thing is, before I found it Mom said that it would really help if we replaced a small set of wire shelves with one of the large wire rack shelving units that I have in the garage, the laundry room, her bedroom, and my brother's room.

Who knows how long it would take me to follow those directions, but they are surprisingly short. I would much rather do that than purchase a particle board cabinet or bookcase, but I would be tempted to see how far $30 gets me.

I would feel concerned with putting cans on particle board shelves, but it is supposed to handle books.

I ordered something that I mentioned here over a week ago. I have not received an update and I just checked.

It is backordered.

The latest recliner that I ordered for my brother shipped. At least I have that going for me, which is nice. The thing is, before I ordered it I showed him a picture and asked if he wanted it.

"No."

Mom had me order it anyway.
