No idea why both packages couldn't have been delivered by the same person. Amazon has been taking longer to deliver packages, but I rarely want things immediately. I choose a single day of the week for deliveries, and they still come in multiple deliveries. One guy said he was supposed to deliver another package, and I told him not to worry about it and just deliver it whenever. He came later that night to deliver the package. They can't be making money on my $4 items by making special trips like that.

Amazon's gig economy app is called Amazon Flex. They give you a set price to deliver a set number of packages. You pick them up at the local depot and use an app to show addresses and scan them on delivery. I used to see them a lot - Amazon warehouse 4 miles away - but I see more Amazon vans today.
The second package likely came from a different warehouse than the first. If their naming convention holds they have at least 9 in PDX.
