Just did a 195 mile road trip in the metro. If my gas gauge is linear, I got approximately 55mpg, and I was hauling ass, between 75 and 95mph. Really hard to keep speed down because it was so aerodynamic. Easily hit 100mph, felt fine. Rock solid. Imagine how much efficiency it’ll get once I rebuild this clapped out motor.
I regret to say I just realized I cannot keep accurate track of my fuel economy besides long known route trips like this one. The speedometer gear is from the stock transmission, so it reads low. As a result I cannot use the odometer or tripometer to accurately track MPG. I’ll try to get a new speedo gear in before I pull the motor for the rebuild so that I can accurately track my efficiency at that point.
