Thanks. Just paint - this is a budget project. The salvaged amp was an Australian-built (so probably small quantities) commercial PA amp.
If you want just a small amp, cheapest now is to buy a prebuilt board from somewhere like Banggood and power it from a plug-pack (wall wart) eg
