Or pierce? Don't forget flying pebbles. So hurray for that tape! A decent grill cover can protect the radiator and make it last longer. As long as you don't let the engine get too hot, it only has advantages.
It was very difficult for my car to warm up on cold winter days, I had to drive at least 15 km (10 miles) to get the first warmth out of the vents. If I drove really quietly, much longer. Now with grill cover this is significantly less.
