A bike seat can, at least, not be uncomfortable. Endurance racers and bike tourists all pedal with the balls of their feet to use the ankle muscles, and use the handlebars for significant support. That's how we do it all day.

For real comfort, safety, and better aero, go recumbent.

I once climbed a hill with a prospective GF, and we were about equally fit. I was amazed that her bicycle range was only a few blocks, not miles. She had never learned to raise her seat to match her growing legs, and was used to doing the cycling version of the duck walk.
