All companies have product lines of varying quality.
I dislike Dell's consumer line (Inspiron) because the screens wobble immediately and the cheap plastic breaks away (at least it used to). Their entry business line (Vostro) held up very well.
I have no experience with Asus, but I assume they have varying levels of quality too.
