I met a bunch of their editors at their 50th Anniversary Drag race.....seemed okay. But with the field being held to 500 entrys and all the big $$$$$ cars entered they were shocked that a normal SOHC 41 mpg 98 Neon (46 best) with 100,000 miles beat all their contestants. The heat index was in the 116 degree range for the entire event and they were to get the field down to 8 cars on the Saturday and then have those left race 8 editors on Sunday, effectively doubling the field. In the end it was my lowly Neon against another lowly Toyota 4Runner. This was the most easy race I have ever won! They did an interview with me and had an in car camera on my sunroof glass.....the 1/2 hour show about the event showed only guys hotlapping Indianapolis Raceway Park road course in high dollar sports cars and spent 10 minutes talking about a guys BMW600 that ran like 45 mph! They mentioned my name and the runner ups name in their magazine article and that was all! They did use video from inside my car.....good view of all my Auto Meter gauges across the top of the dash.....right before they broke for comercial breaks....for Auto Meter!

They joked that my prize was worth more than my car...I told them it was worth twice as much ($5000)

On a .000 starting line I usually get in the .020's-.040's for my normal drag race competition...in this event I sluffed off to a crappy .70-.80 and still won easily. The best reaction time against me was in the final....he had a .480 to my .080 which was like giving me a .4 leaway on my run against him....I actually left before he did, even though he was dialed slower....so I basically had to just barely stay ahead of him.
