In the video at the 7:30 mark, why hasn't any auto-maker done similar for Right & Left hand driver sides?
I can picture a center hub with an armature to the steering wheel that can be rotated R&L, so if in France it's one way, in England another way.
Pedals could slide on a rail and follow along.
Gear shift stays in the middle.
Vehicle would have to have headroom (windshield) clearance for arm to swing, or have a Jeep-like folding windshield, or be a convertible.
Yea, guess it's more complex once one thinks about.
Will be easier to do on drive by wire vehicles with automatics and or electric cars though.
Probably a null issue with autonomous vehicles anyway.
