To your point: Free and Open Source software evolves faster than proprietary software. You can see it in the contention between proprietary software *cough*SmartmaticDominion*cough* and the spooks, who've gone open source.

What it means to us here is that CFD for the masses is becoming attainable. My learning curve is to get Blender running on a Raspberry Pi 4b. It's hard to break away from the Apple ecosystem, the Pi doesn't even have a system clock.
Open VDB is the key, it's in there — it's just about my
