The discussion has been a good one.

The replies have been insightful and informative. A reader can glean much information from all of this.

However, there is more to this than is found in both classical circles and pseudo science approaches. Raceprops does have a foot to stand on, though not in the way he is thinking.

Vapor combustion in and of itself is not the reason a gasoline engine can achieve increased efficiency ( within limits of total fuel energy). It is in the HOW that gasoline is vaporized.
