That is 39.2 MPG US @ 93 mph!
I bet it would do double that fuel economy with a modern DDiS 125 common rail turbodiesel from a Suzuki Celerio, which is a 793cc two-cylinder engine that also makes 47 horsepower @ 3600 rpm like the gasoline engine in the Fiat, and 88 lb-ft of torque @ 2000 rpm which should improve acceleration even with the gearing adjusted to allow the same top speed as it had with the gasoline engine. The version Fiat built with the gasoline engine had a power to weight ratio conducive to doing 0-60 mph in about 9-10 seconds(I don't really know its actual acceleration figure), but with the extra torque of the diesel, that might drop to around 7-8 seconds!
That Fiat Abarth 750 Bertone is IMO of the most interesting cars posted here.
