I have gone to some small towns recently and, even though there are some rot there too, most people seem to not have been so brainwashed as in bigger cities.

Unfortunately, nowadays many teachers are the mediocres who can't get better jobs and throw their anger on their pupils as some sort of "revenge" against their parents who eventually got better jobs.
