In the Volt, a lot of noise comes from the back hatch. I used some door jamb seal strips for that, helped some. I surmised but didn't act, there is likely a lot of wind noise generated from the lip at the leading edge of the hatch.
Install some shag carpet and foam squares on the ceiling!
