It's later than you think.
I'd lay down a mask of Plastidip and use an Exacto knife to cut out a stencil [for each color]. Plasticoat 6oz. touchup, or Testors 3oz. model rattle cans. You can use the air brush to blend the colors, then remove the Plastidip, rinse & repeat. Maybe a little pin striping?
edit: Lay down a black and white cartoon and put your colors over that. It makes the bright colors pop. That's the way the Old Masters do.
