It's fine if computers make something better like say braking, but that doesn't equate to a mandate in my opinion. Set a threshold if you want that something has to be able to achieve to be operated on the roads, but a motorcycle with or without ABS stopping in 80 vs 90 feet or whatever is nothing compared to a 60,000 pound semi taking 5 times that distance to stop. Let the decision on what level of gizmos and cost and complexity to the driver assuming he's not a complete menace to anyone else on the road. There are always better tires, better pads, better rotors, better calipers, all that would lead to better stopping distances. There should be room for something not intended to ever be driven hard to have a simple and low cost braking system if that's what the buyer wants.
