CR: nowhere you indicated it was a normally aspirated diesel but I assumed by 1600 cc you were saying pancake aircooled. But I have seen fuel injectors drilled and tapped into the main fuel plenum with a single large delivery nozzle and aftermarket injected throttle bodies.
