Even though some specialty products may become easier to shop online, there will always be room for Walmart-ish brick-and-mortar general stores for the sake of convenience. There won't be one of such one-box-stores at every strip-mall in the middle of nowhere, but they won't fade away totally. Eventually the need for technical assistance to gadgets bought online will lead some shops to get repurposed, while also serving as regional delivery hubs also operating in a drive-thru arrangement for customers who would rather pick-up their own stuff.
