Are we in agreement that 17L of diesel would only be used in a forced regen that takes about 45 minutes with the truck sitting at high idle?
I've been focusing my search on EPA 2010 and later vehicles. Anything preemission is just too old to use daily and 2007 - 2009 was when manufacturers were trying to stretch the capability of emission systems to avoid the expense of SCR. EPA10 made SCR a requirement and manufacturers were free to relax the internal engine emission controls and just use aftertreatment to clean up the exhaust.
