Don't need to climb, patch it from the inside with a man-lift and sealant and a saved piece of corrugated. The drilling for the bolt holes clearance would be a PITA

Up side: I personally don't know anybody that had a lightening strike, my knowledge is via aircraft related publication. I've witnessed more neighborhood strikes on trees, telephone poles, and roofs.
