People must hate the people they put in the 3rd row on most of these. We have a Jeep Commander which has a bigger 3rd row than something like a Y and I've never even folded that row down. Now our Suburban, that's a 3rd row. Of course minivan can even run 2 full size adults back there, I've even been the one back there with my 2 daughters one fully grown, the other 14, for hours on end including a pass over Going to the Sun in Glacier.
Something like a model Y. I just dont get it. If you had 2 kids small enough they would still require carseats, 2 carseats won't fit back there, so then 2 kids out of carseats? But before they are mostly normal size. It's like a 30 day window in the life of a child.
