My immediate impression of this car is, that the sharp-edged flanks of the 'lakester' would easily lend themselves to a rapid conversion to 'streamliner' class with pre-fabricated add-ons attached in the pits.
We know from Mercedes-Benz' 1958 Grand Prix racer, that the added frontal area of 'enclosing' the wheels is more than compensated by the drag reduction of enclosing the wheels, netting an overall drag reduction.
