On a sidenote, look at this Corsa with some (unproperly done) weatherstripping around the top of the windscreen. The tape used in this one is not suitable to painting over it.

That looks just like standard duct tape, which doesn’t take paint so well.
I figured that the supercharger on the Ion redline can suck as much as 30hp when it’s pullied down for more boost, so in theory the belt can transmit about that much power? Then again that’s not counting for the big spike in low end torque provided by the motor. It would be worth trying I think
