I have a 2012 Caddy Hybrid that my wife drives 15 miles a day and the Speed limit never goes over 45mph. My regen seems to work just fine. When we were in Maine visiting family we got better gas mileage (22mpg) going to town and back on back roads. But back here in SWFL we struggle to get 17mpg on her daily commute. Any tips, or thoughts? The main road is 45mph with a ton of stoplights. If I had the money and know-how I'd love to gut the battery pack and load it up with Lithium batteries and covert it to a Plug-in hybrid.
Research findings were published by the Texas State Governor's Office in the 1990s for experiments with traffic light synchronization and found that, for every $1 spent, motorists would realize $62 in savings, due to conservation of momentum, and not having to keep accelerating from red lights.
So Texas de- synchronized any existing timed traffights, in order to expand state fuel sales profit revenue to their pension funds, instead of saving money for motorists.
Stop-start, and hybrid only gets one so far.
Our AeroStealth simulated synchronized traffic lights for Las Cruces, New Mexico, and his 2014 Ford F-150 4X4 Crew Cab, EcoBoost, 6.5-ft bed, went from 18-mpg, to 36-mpg, at around 40-mph.
