That's how this happened:
I forget what the at-fault driver's insurance paid out, but they pushed the left front wheel against the cowl. I pulled the front axle beam and had a shop straighten it, and reinstalled. Then I cut it straight across the front and welded on a solid nose piece from another hood.
The 1940 Buick headlights were $40 for the pair. It lost 5 MPH of top speed.
