I edited my comment since it conveyed something I didn't intend before, but not sure if it clarifies my understanding. Something like 6 days after being exposed and 3 days after first symptoms is the optimal testing period. Before and after this 1-2 day window and the accuracy falls off a cliff. I think it's only 85% effective even during the peak of accuracy.

Anyhoo, the point isn't the accuracy of my understanding, but to convey the fact that testing is very leaky, not to mention vaccination itself (I'm generally pro-vaccine BTW).

I'm also saying that when it's clear that decisions are being made to politically divide the nation rather than affect health outcomes, it's time to purge those individuals from public service.
