Lyten battery company takes a bow
Also in the Jan. 2022 MOTOR TREND's 'Technologue, by Frank Markus, Silicon Valley's battery maker, Lyten emerged from the shadows in September.
This federally-funded company is working on a LytCell Lithium-sulfur battery, targeting 3X energy density improvement and pricing which would undercut combustion vehicles.
Their using a 3D graphene matrix to 'cage' the sulfur, to keep it from hitchhiking a ride on the Lithium.
1,400 charge cycles seen so far.
Thermal expansion is not an issue.
Fire risk practically nil.
