Fossil-Fuel Arson on a Global Scale
1) Earth has a total surface area of 196,941,374-square-miles.
2) All the world's forest measure 22,922,929.87-square-miles.
3) A 'World Forest Equivalent' ( WFE ) = 22,922,929.87- square miles.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4) All energy sources may be compared to one another on a British Thermal Unit ( Btu ) basis.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5) If all fossil-fuels, burned each year, are added together, they are equivalent to 15- WFE.
6) 15- WFE are equivalent to 343,843,948.1-square-miles of forest.
7) Burning 15- WFE is equivalent to a forest fire comprising 343,843,948.1-square-miles of flame.
8) Dividing the 343,843,948.1-square-miles of flame, by Earth's surface area of 196,941,374-square-miles = an annual forest fire equal in size to 1.75 Planet Earths.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
9) Earth's atmosphere is 1,974,393,810- cubic-miles.
10) Dividing Earth's atmospheric volume, by Earth's surface area, yields 10.02- cubic-miles atmosphere / square mile surface area.
11) 1.75- Earths worth of fire, yields 5.742 cubic-miles of atmosphere exposed to each square-mile of the carbon dioxide from the flames.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
12) With 7.5-billion souls on the planet, each person has a personal allotment of 0.26325- cubic-miles of atmosphere, or a cube, about one kilometer on a side, which at 100 km/h you'd cover in 38.5-seconds.
